Atlas Maps

Earth Change Maps for the United States, Canada & Mexico drawn on the Rand McNalley Atlas

The area inside the dark lines is the land mass that will survive the changes.  Within these areas, there are places that will go through many changes.  These areas cannot be assumed safe just because they will survive.   Intuition is the only true tool you have to find your right place.  I used blue highlighter to show more clearly where the water will be.  I didn't want to cover the map data, so that these maps could be compared with your personal copy of the atlas, if you have one, to get a little greater detail on the borders. Most of the maps were given to me by spirit in 1992 and then revised slightly in 1996.

Western U.S. Overview The Colorado area has some especially unstable areas where large breaks in the fault system will open.  I recommend dowsing this area in depth if you are interesting in locating there.  It is a good area for food growth and could sustain larger groups in the right areas. Eastern United States  The Southern area will likely have a lot of wash over.  The Northern Island is much more stable and will endure less changes.  Prepare for large variances in the weather in this area.  Heat source and food for unexpected shifts in weather are the major concern for this area.  It will be far less affected by debris than the Western portion of the United States.
Arizona
Most important aspect of this region is a good water supply.  Also to avoid low lying areas due to extensive flooding that will occur.  Many of the areas have quite rocky soil, you may need to be planning soon enough to bring in suitable topsoil for growing.  Avoid the area right on the Mogollon rim. give yourself a good 3 - 5 miles as some of the edges will have some landslides.
Southern California /Arizona border area
This area will be an especially difficult one to live in for the first few years.   Much preparation will be required if you desire to live in this area.
Southern Nevada
This is another very difficult area to go through the changes.  It will take a good water supply and extensive greenhouses with artificial light source.  There is likely to be intensive wind activity so be sure to plan for that in your choice of dwelling.
Utah
Eastern Utah (east of the mountains) will be a very stable area and  can produce suitable quantities of food with soil amendments.  Dowse your water source carefully and be sure to ask that it is a source that will remain through the changes as many underground water sources will shift in this area
Idaho
The islands of Idaho will be a very fertile and abundant place.  There will be a significantly higher amount of rainfall than many of the other areas and this area will get hit with a lot of debris.  If you are willing to work though this temporary situation it will be a really fantastic place to be located.  Underground water sources should remain stable.
Western Montana
This area will sustain a lot of winds in the open areas.  Soil is typically quite good, rocky in some areas.  Water sources will remain stable in more areas than not.   There will be a couple rough winters to weather in this area before the physical shift in the axis.  Some food storage for this time period is required or greenhouses built to withstand the winters.  Moderate levels of debris depending on how far west you are located.
Canada 1
Once again rough winters to get through for the short term.  Lots of winds to contend with.  Good soils.  Debris level will be moderate to high so keep this in mind.  Much of the debris will be dropped on the islands on the western side.
Canada 2
Wind and more wind will be the biggest detriment.  There may be some loss of soil quality dependant on management of soils.  Good area for domestic animals with appropriate food storage to take them through the transition.  Earth bermed dwellings are recommended.
Eastern Montana
Much the same as Canada 2.  There will be some shifting of water sources in this area.  It would be wise to plant wind breaks now and to get some fruit trees going that can handle the cold short term even if the crop itself were to freeze out, after the transition they will flourish in this area.
South Dakota
Soils will suffer greatly from erosion in this area.  If you choose to locate in this area it would be a good idea to plant cover crops that specifically deal with this.  Cold once again for the short term.  Debris level should be low.
Nebraska
It is going to be a rough ride on this area of the coast.  Dwellings that can withstand a lot of movement are of paramount importance here.  Food supplies should be easy to maintain in this area.  The rain will not be as intense here. Debris levels will be low.
Kansas
Warmer than Nebraska, there will be difficulty with insects and small animals affecting food sources.  Don't put all you eggs in one basket, so to speak.   Great place for raising chickens, once again you will need to be prepared with feed for them through the transition period. Be sure to stock away insect repellent.
Texas 1
This area will receive the least of the constant flow of rain, but will be deluged by large storms that will bring heavy debris.  The storms will be intermittent and inconsistent as far as what direction they are coming from.  Strong roofs and protection from the debris is important.  Expect large bursts of wind as well.
Texas 2
This area could sustain hurricane damage along the coastlines as the weather patterns reconfigure themselves.  Stay out of low lying areas and at a distance from the coast and rivers.  The hurricanes are not likely to go too far inland but turn back out to sea.  Storm shelters and underground storage are recommended.
Mtadams.jpg (101798 bytes)Washington 1
This area of Washington is in the southern area just north of the Columbia River into the valleys of Mt. Adams, up through the wilderness areas and containing Mt. Rainier and Mt. St. Helens.  Rainier and St. Helens will be quite active, expect numerous ongoing small earthquakes as these mountains continue to evolve. The southern areas are the only area that will be inhabitable until the volcanic activity stops.  There will be a lot of upheaval and it will be important to have a space on a hill.  Mt. Adams has a low probability of volcanic activity, however there will be a lot of instability and could be large mudflows from her slopes.  A lot of rain in this area! Beautiful tropical islands after the changes are complete if you think you can ride out the shift.  Find a good solid ROCK foundation for any structures and tap the rock deeply for your foundation, asking the rock first would be advisable.  Have a lot of water as water sources may be contaminated for longer than in other areas.
Mtbaker.jpg (108808 bytes)Washington 2
These northern island span the middle of the cascade range and into Canada a ways even though the map stops at the US border.  I did not have a Canadian map that had the same scale, but the island don't go very far into Canada.  The northern most area will have a lot of volcanic activity from Mt. Baker and that aspect has to be looked at carefully.  In the lower areas most of the land is currently in federal hands and quite steep.  Glacier Peak will also see some volcanic activity and the issue with mudslides is significant.
Olympic.jpg (68556 bytes)Washington 3
Most of this area is the Olympic National Park.  This land will raise even higher than it is now as the push comes that lift Lemuria out of the sea.  Edges of the state will be washed over with large tidal waves.  It will be a quick ride up and there will not be any volcanic activity on this landmass but it could be effected by neighboring volcanic activity.  Areas of stability will need a rock foundation as with all the other areas of Washington.  High rain fall area, and this section could see some medium size debris.  Windows will need to be covered.
Mexico
This area also has potential for hurricane damage on the east coast more so, than the west during the transition.  Much of this area is very much desert and although warm, the soil requires a substantial amount of water to grow enough food to sustain healthy people or animals.  There are many pitfalls to this area.  If you are interested in this area the recommendation is go NOW  you have a lot of work to do.
British Columbia Island
This island will be quite barren in terms of trees and plant life after the changes.   If you want to locate here be sure you have all the seeds of anything you would ever want to grow and or cuttings of trees.  This will be a place of your own making.
New Madrid Fault
This map show the opening of the New Madrid fault that will happen before the bigger changes it will be one of the first "expansion events"  The details about this fault break were shared in 2006 I beleive.
The Flathead Valley Montana Detail
Two versions of what the Flathead Valley in Northwest Montana may come to look like one with the salt water coming close to the continental divide these came through in early 2007.
Northwest US Islands Detail
From Montana to the west cast and south as far as Nevada and Northern California.  This map was given to me in late 2007.  I was not allowed to look at any of the other maps as I drew it out from a google map.  Some parts were a little surprising.
