In 1989 and 1990 when we were doing the rounds of psychic and holistic fairs in the Pacific Northwest, we met a composer named Herb Ernst. He was selling his new series of Dreamflight tapes and we were doing healing work, and promoting some of Bestali's channeled work. Herb was doing what he called Musical Portraits, tapping into the higher self, and composing on the fly, your personal music. We always wanted to do this, but were always to busy attending our booth during the fairs. When we realized it was time to leave Washington and head for Arizona, there was one thing we knew we had to do before we could leave... call Herb and get our music done. In the years since not very much time has passed without returning again and again to this precious gift that Herb brought through for us.
This is what Herb wrote about his Musical Portraits
A Musical Portrait is the result of my connection with the higher self of an individual and then "mirroring back" to that person, in musical form, the inspiration I feel from this contact.
What I have found is that there is something that happens that seems to go beyond the "portrait." That "something" is felt as a fulfillment of a "need" by the person I'm connecting with, much like a hunger or thirst that is satisfied. This has been described in various ways by people who have had a personal Musical Portrait created for them. The explanation that feels right to me is that the music vibrations produce a kind of "toning effect" that brings the person I'm working with into a realization whereby the Higher Self can be truly experienced.
The recording of this musical expression can then be
used at any time to bring into consciousness the awareness of the sublime beauty and joy
of the Higher Self.
Herb still does some musical portraits out of his home in Maple Valley, Washington.

audio format so that you can experience them if you want and get to know another part of
our energies, and Herbs. If you can't get to Herb for personal music you can still
experience his unique talents through tapes and CDs that he has available commercially.

This music has been very important to me, when I want to meditate with music this is always my choice. It relaxes me immediately and takes me into a nice altered state of consciousness. It has also been a blessing during times when I didn't feel well physically, listening to it eases away any stress that I'm feeling and brings me to my center. There is nothing that I could do or say to thank Herb for this wonderful gift. When I first heard it, I was taken to lifetimes that have a strong impact on this life, and was shown the ties between them. There are small pieces of music toward the end that transit from one life to the next and this has been incredibly powerful for me. During these years there were many times that I could only have a few tapes with me and this was always one of them.

There are very few pieces of music that touch my soul. My music portrait is one of those. it reminds me of who I truly am, and helps me to let go of the day to day junk I like to carry around. It's been a blessing.

My musical portrait has always been special to me. It was with me from Washington to Arizona to Washington, back to Arizona and is still here in Montana. It has been my comforter when I needed some cheering up. There's nothing like the music of your Higher Self. I've been thankful for Herb's gift, and good times shared at psychic fairs and drumming on the sand dunes at Ocean Shores, Washington. Thanks Herb.
